    Mission Statement
    The TIBETcenter endeavors to preserve and promote the cultural heritage of Tibet, and to provide a venue for Tibetan and Buddhist studies.
     
    Vision Statement


  • To open a library on Tibet, Central Asia and related subjects for scholars and the public.
  • To organize Tibet-related exhibitions to educate the public about the ancient culture of Tibet.
  • To establish the "Buddha House" worship site for the benefit of the Buddhist communities in the Chicago area, especially the growing Tibetan refugee community.
  • To facilitate Internet website with free access to study materials on Tibet and Buddhism. (Buddhapia, South Korea has agreed to sponsor 30,000 pages worth of free access study materials on Tibet and Buddhism).
  • To bring out a quarterly newsletter which will report on the activities of the TIBETcenter as well as contain short articles on Tibetan culture and religion, quotations from the teachings and lectures of His Holiness the Dalai Lama.
  • To organize programs which take full advantage of the presence in Chicago of visiting Lamas, monks, nuns, traditional Tibetan doctors, performers, Tibetologists etc.
