"The Wave"

Ebb and flow,
fluctuate,
crawl the shore,
stretch, reach, and fade.
Fall back to the sea.
The wave that arrives at its
destined shore,
will that wave travel
no more?
thoughts born, strive to fly,
never reaching that distant sky.
Body intact, determined mind,
arms reaching, trying to find,
something to grasp,
as the "I" begins to fade.

The wave rolls,
searching the surface of the sea,
asking "what separates all from me?"
Conflict, clashing
with a foreign tide,
ignorant to the oneness of the sea,
upon which it rides.

The wave never obtained peace,
until it experienced the
wholeness of the sea.
Only in this state of being
can it truly be free.
