The Midwest Buddhist Meditation Center (MBMC) serves a diverse population in Michigan, Ohio and parts of Indiana and Ontario, Canada.

Objectives: 1. To be the meditation and spiritual community center. 2. To be the Buddhist-Eastern learning and study center. 3. To maintain and support Buddhist teachings and Eastern culture. 4. To be the resource center for mutual understanding and harmonious activities. 5. To represent Buddhist organizations in interfaith activities.

Activities: 1. Buddhist and Eastern studies. 2. Meditation instruction and practice. 3. Religious ceremonies. 4. Lectures in high schools, colleges and universities. 5. Giving Dharma talks and meditation instruction to inmates in the Indiana State Prison and Michigan State Prison twice a month. 6. Join hands and participate in interfaith activities with the NCCJ office, Detroit, Michigan. 7. Participation in a  high school curriculum committee to set up a program of study based on Buddhist teachings aimed at resolution of moral and ethical problems.
Daily Practice: Morning chanting and meditation, 6:00-7:00 A.M.; Evening chanting and meditation, 6:00-8:00 P.M. All are welcome.

Meditation Instructor: Ven. Chuen Phangcham, Ph. D. Born in Thailand, Ven. Phangcham practiced meditation for 20 years before coming to the USA in 1986. He was meditation instructor at the Insight Meditation Center of Chicago for 10 years. He sits on the Board of Trustees of the Parliament of the World Religions. He is also President Emeritus of the Buddhist Council of the Midwest and Co-president of the American Buddhist Congress.
