The Kwan Um Zen Community of Chicago practices in the Koren Zen tradition following the teachings of Zen Master Seung Sahn. Members meet for practice at the home temple (address listed above), DePaul University in Chicago, Hobart, IN, Wheaton and Woodstock, IL. Zen Master, Barbara Rhodes, conducts weekend retreats four times a year. A newsletter is published quarterly and is available by contacting Ron Kidd. The community also holds days of meditation, evenings of chanting with Sufi friends and other programs. Open to the public.
