Chicago Karma Thegsum Choling (KTC) is a center for study and practice in the Karma Kagyu lineage of Tibetan Buddhism, affiliated with Karma Triyana Dharmachakra Monastery in New York State. In 1975, His Holiness the Gyalwa Karmapa, head of the Kagyu lineage, bestowed the title of "Choje Lama " ("Superior Dharma Master") on Ven. Khenpo Karthar Rinpoche, and requested Khenpo Rinpoche to go to America and act as his representative in teaching the Dharma. Since that time, Khenpo Karthar Rinpoche has lived in the U.S., working tirelessly to transmit the pure lineage of Kagyu teachings to western students, establishing many Dharma centers in North and South America, and in recent years, guiding his senior students in traditional long-term meditation retreats.

Chicago KTC offers weekly group meditation practice and Dharma study sessions which are open to the public. Meditation instruction from senior students of Khenpo Rinpoche is also available at the center.
