The Burmese Buddhist Temple was founded in October 1987. It has three monks, and the chief Abbot is Ven. Ashin Kaythawa.  He teaches meditation to lay-people, initiates lay-followers into the Buddhist order, and ordains them as monks and gives instruction. When lay-followers invite the monks to their homes for Buddhist ceremonies, marriages, and funerals, the monks instruct them in the performance of these ceremonies in accordance with the Buddha's teaching and tradition.

Morning and evening services include chanting, praying, and meditation. Twice a month, the monks give sermons at the Burmese Buddhist Temple. There are also ceremonies each month in accordance with Buddhist traditions and religious holidays which are observed according to the lunar calendar.
