In order to understand Korean Buddhism, we must first take a look at its history. Although there is evidence of earlier contact with Buddhism, the usually accepted date for the introduction of Buddhism to the peninsula from China is 372 CE (Common Era). Today Buddhism is woven into every aspect of Korean culture from customs to artifacts.
